I first found my love of diving in Kenya on holiday in 2006 when I got fed up with sun bathing and my partner said go over to the pool and see what the divers are doing.
When I came home I joined my local club 'Frog Squad' in Retford, Notts and they
introduced me to diving in and around the UK.
I continued in my diving journey with 'Frog Squad' all the way through to Padi Open Water Instructor.
Then my Instructors 'Mark and Andrea'
decided to emigrate to New Zealand and that is when Richard and Myself decided to set-up our own dive club 'Dive-S80.com'
My passion is diving on wrecks anywhere in the world and learning the history
surrounding them.
I also get enjoyment from teaching others and passing on my knowledge.
I love seeing the enjoyment on peoples faces once they are qualified.
I still continue my education with the enrolment of Padi Tri Mix Diver Course.

My journey into the blue world began in 2005 in Grand Canaria, and I have been
exploring the depths ever since.
Over the years my passion for diving evolved leading me to become a Padi Open Water Instructor.
While I enjoy teaching and helping new and qualified divers my true calling lied in wreck diving so I ventured down the Padi Tec diver route. I continued with my education and I qualified as a Padi Tec Deep Instructor in 2022.
My love for wrecks has taken me on some of the worlds most historic dive sites, Scapa Flow for the sunken WWI German High Seas Fleet and in warmer waters the SS Thistlegorm in Egypt.
I have also dived with sharks in the Maldives, Manta's in Egypt and explored the vibrant volcanic landscapes of Lanzarote which I consider a fantastic diving destination.
In 2021 I gained my RYA Power Boat Level 2 qualification and RYA VHF Radio Operators Licence.

I started my scuba diving journey in 2011 when my oldest son Samuel had a try dive in Cyprus, He has special needs so my wife suggested I also took part to help and
support him.
Although I enjoyed the diving I did not
progress further until 2017, where I completed my Padi Open water and followed by my Padi Advanced Open water.
I then went on to do the Padi Dive Master in 2023 and finally gaining my Padi Open Water Scuba Instructor in July 2025 backed by the team at Dive-S80.com.
My 2 sons are also qualified divers and members of Dive-S80.com and are
progressing their dive qualifications with the club.
I have dived most of the Inland dive sites in the UK and around the English coast, I have also dived in Lanzarote and Cyprus.

My introduction to scuba diving was in the late 1990’s, like so many others it was on holiday in a hotel
swimming pool in Minorca which was followed by a taster open water dive.
In 2005 again on holiday in Malta along with my two sons completed the PADI Scuba diver course
qualification after which we joined the local dive club Frog Squad / Nemo Divers and I commenced the
journey from Open Water Diver to Master Scuba Diver and onto Padi Dive Master.
I’ve been fortune enough to have dived in some nice parts of the world including Australia, Canada, Canaries, Caribbean, Mediterranean, Mexico, Red Sea, and UK waters.
I’ve experienced most forms of diving from reefs to drifts, deep wrecks and cave structures (cenotes).
All are interesting and special in their own way.
My other interests include Lifesaving, Swimming (Pool & Open water), Driving (46 years membership of IAM), Aviation (PPL), Fresh Water Angling.
My passion is to encourage others to enjoy water activities safely helping them increase their
confidence and competence.
